Overview

The ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Port Arthur Refinery is located on the Texas Gulf Coast approximately 90 miles east of Houston. The refinery receives crude oil by rail, marine docks and pipelines. Products are distributed into pipelines and across the refinery docks into ships and barges.

Adjacent to the ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Port Arthur Refinery is one of its two renewable diesel plants, which has made ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ the world’s second largest producer of renewable diesel and a leading sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producer.

The ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Port Arthur Refinery also supports Southeast Texas communities through charitable giving, employee volunteering and partnerships that benefit local children and families.

Through the ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Benefit for Children (BFC), ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æâ€™s Port Arthur Refinery supports pediatric care at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. BFC funding has helped provide specialized equipment, staff training and a new play therapy center. ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æâ€™s Port Arthur Refinery brings STEM to life at Lamar University’s Innovation ColLABoration camp through materials, volunteers and hands-on science demonstrations. Hosted by the Texas Academy, the week-long camp introduces incoming high school students to STEM careers. Watch how ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ employees connect concepts like density and separation to transportation fuels.

  • $9.9 million in grants for children’s organizations through the ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Texas Open and Benefit for Children since 2013.

  • ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Volunteers are active in supporting the Port Arthur Community by working alongside organizations such as Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Meals on Wheels, Texas Family Care Network, Adaptive Sports for Kids and South East Texas Food Bank. 
  • Over the last 10 years, ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Volunteers have dedicated more than 100,000 hours of service in Port Arthur.

Investing in Education and Community Partnerships

  • Since 2000, ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ has partnered with Port Arthur Industry Group (PAIG) to provide college scholarships to Port Arthur residents interested in STEM-related careers.
  • Since 2018, employees at ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æâ€™s Port Arthur Refinery have hosted the Reel United fishing tournament as a way to raise additional funds for the United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County.
